Vyla has worked as a strategic organisational effectiveness consultant in Europe for over 30 years. She has international experience of working as an advisor to emerging, senior, and C-Suite leaders in global, regional, and country based organisations. Topics Vyla has advised on include: board effectiveness, strategy execution, behavioural based change, and leadership effectiveness and development.

She also has experience as Programme Director, Executive Coach, Learning Facilitator, and Tutor in Executive Education programmes, at institutions such as London Business School, INSEAD, and Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. She holds a BA in Industrial/ Organisational Psychology, a M.Phil. in Organisational Behaviour and a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Vyla is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine.

Experience

Professor Nader Tavassoli joined us from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2002, where he was faculty director of the Entrepreneurship Programme and founding faculty director of the e-Business Programme. His research, teaching and advising is on brands and branding. He launched Coursera’s first massive open online course (MOOC) on brand management; helped define brands' purpose, DNA and strategy; served as an expert witness in brand disputes, representing celebrities, multi-nationals, and countries; advised in M&A brand due diligence and integration; and designed and directed brand academies for several global companies.

Simon Osborne is recognised as one of the leading UK authorities on Corporate Governance and Board Effectiveness, as well as a sought after conference speaker, and board evaluator.

Simon became chief executive of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA: The Governance Institute) in October 2011 and stepped down in May 2018. He progressed to this role after being made a Fellow of ICSA in 2004, and following on from his appointments as chair of the ICSA Company Secretaries’ Forum in 2005, and Joint Head of ICSA Board Evaluation in 2003.

During his tenure, he led a significant change programme, focusing on three key pillars: representing and engaging with members, including reviving the branch network; extending the range of ICSA’s qualifications and training across many sectors; and raising its profile to reflect the increasing global importance of good governance.

After qualifying as a solicitor, Simon started his corporate career working as in-house counsel for nearly 30 years in the railway industry, latterly as company secretary and general counsel of the former Railtrack Group PLC. Following the UK Government’s move against Railtrack Group’s major subsidiary by putting it into railway administration, he joined a small team, which successfully recovered value for 250,000 shareholders.

A recognised advocate of using evidence based insights to inform governance and board efficacy, across a range of industries and sectors, Simon has pursued a policy of low cost targeted investment in research projects with organisations including the Investment Association and Board Intelligence.

Outside of ICSA, Simon chairs the Bylaws & Procedures Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network. In the past, he was a founder member of ICGN’s business ethics committee. He was formerly a NED with an award winning media firm, Crown Brands Communications Limited, and its parent MNN Holdings Limited. He is a vice-president of a small charity, the Railway Benefit Fund (Charles Dickens was a founder member), having previously served successively as honorary solicitor, board member and deputy chair, and chairing its nomination committee.

In the early days of the Leadership Institute, Simon worked closely with the Institute team to pilot aspects of a “Board Fellows Programme” for MBAs, which as of the 2018/19 academic year is running as a collaboration between the LBS Leadership Institute, Board Fellow participants, and the London Business School Student Led Initiatives Team.

Tom Gosling is an Executive Fellow at LBS where he contributes to the evidence-based practice of responsible business by connecting academic research, public policy, and corporate action. He works with the Centre for Corporate Governance and the Leadership Institute at LBS. Tom is also a member of the Steering Committee of The Purposeful Company, a think tank devoted to identifying ways in which the UK corporate governance environment can be developed to support companies that create profit through fulfilling a purpose that benefits society.

Tom has 20+ years of experience as a board adviser and is a leading independent authority on corporate governance and responsible business. Most recently he was a senior Partner at PwC where he established and led the firm’s executive pay practice, advising FTSE-100 and equivalent private and European companies on corporate governance and executive pay.

Tom engages extensively with regulators such as BEIS, the FRC and the FCA on remuneration, corporate governance and stewardship policy matters and has given evidence to the BEIS Select Committee and the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards. He is a regular commentator in print, broadcast, and social media. Tom has a PhD in Applied Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Ina is an experienced programme and project manager within the higher and professional education sectors. Ina has been working for London Business School since August 2022. She previously worked at City, University of London as a Global Engagement Manager and developed international partnerships with educational institutions in the UK and overseas. She also managed several projects including International City Week, Global Talk Series and Global Talent Scheme. She also provided specialised immigration and welfare advice to international students and staff at both City and Exeter University, after her time worked in a law firm.

Ina holds a Bachelor in Accounting and Finance from Southampton University and a Master in Translation from Bristol University. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and is a certified translator. She is currently a Governor at a London primary school.

Experience

Christine is formerly Chair, Board Services Executive Search, Harvey Nash plc. Prior to this she held operational, buying and managing director roles with blue chip, UK, retail businesses. Her research interests cover corporate governance and board effectiveness, specifically the issues around the environment, society and governance (ESG) agenda. She is currently completing her PhD at Cranfield University where her research focuses on understanding how organisations foster inclusion and surfacing the practices that lead to inclusion. Initial findings were published in The Female FTSE Board Report 2021: Inclusion works for everyone. Prior to this she led the “Harvey Nash Annual Board Research”, for four years in Partnership with the London Business School’s Leadership Institute, to understand how boards are changing. She also led annual research on the changing face of leadership.

She is a qualified career development coach, helping executives foster purpose, fulfilment and success through their career.

Christine is a Member of the British Psychological Society, Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society, Member of the Academy of Management and British Academy of Management.
