About me: I am a finance enthusiast from Morocco, passionate about multiculturalism and community involvement. During my undergraduate studies, my fascination with finance grew alongside my commitment to making a positive impact on society. Coming from Morocco, I've embraced the richness of multiculturalism and understand how diverse perspectives can enhance problem-solving skills. This global outlook has broadened my horizons and deepened my appreciation for the role of finance in our interconnected world. Outside of academics, I actively volunteered in my community, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of finance in driving economic growth and social change. I also joined clubs focused on consulting, advisory, and finance, where I refined my skills and nurtured my interests. These experiences gave me practical insights into real-world challenges, preparing me for a career in these fields. My true passion lies in finance, and I'm eager to utilize my multicultural perspective, community-oriented values, and honed skills from club involvement to excel in advisory roles. I believe that finance can be a force for good, and I'm dedicated to contributing to its positive impact on society.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Figuring out a short-medium term career plan
About me: Born and raised in New Delhi, I had unknowingly become privy to everyday economic developments in a rapidly developing juggernaut like India. This prompted me to sway from family tradition and pursue a degree in Economics and Management, to gain a deeper understanding of how the world works. Having spent three years in Italy, worked in Dubai and finally moved to London, I developed an interest in global financial markets and how they interact - leading me to the MFA.
During my undergraduate studies, I was exposed to consulting, equity research, investment funds and wealth management. This, coupled with courses in behavioural finance and markets showed me the importance of the human side of finance - making wealth and asset management my target career choice.
In my off time, I love burying my nose into a good work of fiction or discovering the best cafés around London. I believe there’s something for everyone here, and with the right people around, it’s easy to find your place.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Dealing with business school applications as well as job applications whilst trying to maintain a social life!
About me: Hi! I am Cadelie, I was born and raised in Paris and decided to move to London for my studies (best decision of my life!). With an Ivorian background, I was pleased to discover the diversity London offers in both the social and professional settings. During my undergraduate at King's College, I was able to take part in varied internships from Consulting to Private Equity Real Estate, and Debt. These experiences have helped me refine my preferences in terms of career options. Being the Vice President of King's Banking and Finance society also provided me with a great understanding of the industry and fantastic networking opportunities. Actually, if I had one recommendation to give it would be network, network, network!! At LBS, I feel empowered and can connect with like-minded students from all over the globe! About me: Hi, my name is Elisa Day Svarstad. During my undergraduate studies in tourism management, I was introduced to the CFA curriculum, which piqued my interest in the technical aspects of the finance world. This newfound curiosity prompted me to connect with professionals in the finance industry. Serendipitously, my first networking call was with a London Business School alumni, who shared fascinating insights about LBS. This prestigious institution brings together students from around the globe, fostering a rich tapestry of cultures and perspectives in the classroom. Given my passion for diverse cultures, cultivated through living in five different countries and visiting over 50 others, I found London Business School to be the perfect environment for me. My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: GMAT
About me: I am originally from Peru and lived there until I made the exciting move to London to embark on the MFA programme. My academic journey began with a dual degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico and Economics and Finance from the University of London during my undergraduate years. Along the way, I got my first glimpse of the finance world through some insightful internships and an exchange semester in Paris.
I furthered my knowledge through a full-time position at KPMG in the Deal Advisory division, where I immersed myself in valuations and client engagements, gaining insights into diverse industries. This experience increased my interest in finance, eager for continuous learning and tackling complex challenges.
Beyond finance, I am passionate about women's empowerment and sustainable practices. I would like to leverage my skills and experiences to drive positive change in these areas while pursuing a dynamic career in investment banking, which I believe offers the ideal platform for making a difference on a global scale.
At LBS, along with being a student ambassador and a Women's Merit Scholar, I am part of the Finance Club Executive Committee.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Understanding which course and university are better suited to my goals in a short period of time.
About me: I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and grew up in a small city nearby called Cotia. There I had amazing opportunities to develop myself, learn new languages, play sports and volunteer. After high school, I went to Sao Paulo to pursue a bachelor's in economics at Insper. During my course, I participated in the student finance organization, which was a great opportunity to sharpen my financial skillset and learn more about career paths. In addition, in 2022 I did an exchange program to Universite Paris Dauphine, which allowed me to enrich my global perspective. After returning to Brazil, I interned in risk management. However, my experiences abroad showed me that there was more out there. Hence, I decided to take an unusual step for a Brazilian and applied for masters programs. I chose the MFA in order to pursue my interests in finance and behavioral economics, as well as to expand my opportunities and propel my career forward. Currently, I long to develop a career in Venture Capital or Growth Equity in London.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Balancing the GMAT with a full-time job.
About me: I was born and raised in London but studied in Manchester, where half of my family is from. During my bachelors, I co-founded an electric scooter start-up and took a keen interest in trading, which ultimately led me to embark on a career in finance. Upon returning to London, I completed a 5 month internship at a Real Estate Investment Trust, between the Investment and Strategy teams. I then worked at Bloomberg for 2 months as a Data Analyst, where I was mostly programming data acquisition software in Python. To round out my gap year, I worked in Industrials M&A at Deutsche Bank and rotated between Real Estate Financing Group and TMT M&A at Goldman Sachs. Outside of work and study, I like to keep up with developments in Tech & Media and Formula 1. I also love to play football and poker as regularly as possible.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Studying for the GMAT within the time constraints of maintaining strong academics in my undergraduate studies, working part-time for 20 hours a week, and being actively engaged in university clubs and societies.
About me: My LBS story thus far is one that reflects a journey of determination and one that encapsulates the power of the LBS network. I grew up in Singapore, raised by parents who immigrated from Malaysia. After completing two years of military service and working full-time as a barista at Starbucks, I began my undergraduate degree in PPE at King's College London. During university, I also worked part-time as a barista at % Arabica. During my undergraduate degree, I developed a keen interest in the finance industry. However, coming from a family that did not work in anything remotely close to finance or business meant that I had to build my understanding of the industry and grow my network myself. Combined with my desire to become a global citizen, these factors prompted my application to London Business School. Coming from a less affluent background, LBS has spring boarded my professional career. Through an LBS conference, my profile was spotted by a recruiter at Blackstone that eventually turned into a summer internship opportunity with them - a testament to the power of the LBS network. Academics and professional background aside, my hobbies include cooking, playing badminton, and drinking a good cup of coffee.

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Finding a program that combined the academic rigor I was seeking, but also a more practical approach.
About me: As a French-American dual citizen born and raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey (just outside of New York City), I experienced a melting pot of cultures growing up. This instilled a want to pursue my academic and professional aspirations abroad and seek further global perspectives.
Following high school, I attended ESSEC Business School in France to obtain my undergraduate degree. While at ESSEC, I completed two exchange programs in Boston and Singapore. I also gained professional experiences in both Leveraged Finance and Private Credit in multinational banks and investment funds. I am passionate about credit and was motivated to pursue my higher education, and eventually my professional career, in London, because the city is a global financial hub.
LBS was a natural fit given my global background, and I knew that I would be provided with great opportunities to learn from a diverse cohort while benefiting from the quality of the professors and guest speakers.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about traveling, having visited over 30 countries. I love exploring new cultures, trying new foods, and meeting new people!

My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Securing a 710 on the GMAT in two months while completing an internship
About me: Having always had a deep interest in analysing how economic or financial events impact business strategy and financial markets, pursuing an undergraduate degree in finance and economics was a natural fit. At Lancaster University, I completed internships in real estate valuation with Knight Frank and investment banking with BTIG. At BTIG, I worked primarily with the equity sales and trading desk, understanding trends following past rights issues, mergers and acquisitions, or other significant firm actions and recommending trading strategies to institutional clients.
I decided to pursue a masters at LBS halfway through my first year at university, as I wanted to gain a more practical understanding of corporate finance. Acing the GMAT was the most challenging part of the application process; I studied for the exam while interning with Knight Frank. I often had my laptop out writing notes during lunch! But I persevered and achieved a 710. During my time at LBS thus far, I have been amazed at the close-knit community of students and alumni, where everyone radiates enthusiastic support for my career aspirations.
In my free time, you'll find me submitting job applications, relaxing by playing strategy video games, or debating energy policy with friends!
