Laura Giurge

Research Associate

PhD (Erasmus) MA MSc (Groningen)

Dr Laura M. Giurge is a Research Associate of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School. Laura earned her PhD in Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam as well as two cum laude Master Degrees in Economics and Business and in Human Resources Management from the University of Groningen (NL). Prior to joining LBS, Laura was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Cornell University (USA).

Laura’s research focuses on the well-being implications of the changing nature of work, and on what organisational leaders and policymakers can do to ensure that technology and workplace innovations are assets, not barriers, that enable individuals to thrive at work and in their personal life. She addresses these issues by employing a diverse set of methodologies from lab and field experiments to qualitative interviews, and by collecting data with non-profit and company collaborators around the world.

Her work has been published in journals with international impact such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Human Behaviour, and The Leadership Quarterly, and it is often featured in the media. Laura is passionate about communicating her research to organizational leaders and the general public, and has written about her work in the Harvard Business Review.

At LBS, Laura connects with MBA students in teaching the Negotiation & Bargaining elective. In 2020, she co-developed the Balance & Productivity module for the Professional Skills Development elective. She is currently working on a diverse set of research projects to identify novel factors that predict individuals’ successes and failures at enacting desired work-nonwork boundaries. You can reach out to her via email, or follow her work at www.lauramgiurge.com and on social media.
