London Business School has been ranked number 5 in Poets & Quants' 2023 ‘Top 50 MBAs for Entrepreneurship’ ranking.

“We’re excited to be ranked in the top 5 amongst some of the most prestigious business schools and larger universities,” says Jane Khedair, Executive Director of LBS’s Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital (IEPC).

Ms Khedair said that the ranking LBS had achieved is recognition of the long journey the School has been on over many years, a journey that has seen the creation of a centre for education, policy shaping and events, covering all aspects of entrepreneurship, from idea generation to financing, and private markets investing.

“Over the years our team has created an invaluable network with which to support aspiring founders with all aspects of the pursuit of an entrepreneurial career path, from strategic planning to delivery and fundraising for growth,” says Jane, who joined LBS in 2013 to leverage her experience with start-ups and extensive networks.

Today, the initiatives and network that the IEPC team have created throughout the years sit at the core of the School’s offerings for early-stage ventures that are available to LBS’s global community and run out of both the School’s London and Dubai locations. These include the Entrepreneur’s Journey series, the School’s acclaimed Incubator programme, various mentorship programmes, competitions and internship opportunities for those curious to explore start-up life.

In addition to this, our teaching is designed to shape and foster an entrepreneurial mindset in our participants. Many of our students arrive with an aspiration to create their own ventures. We take them through the entire cycle of business creation, from developing, testing and planning ideas through to financing, executing and scaling resulting ventures. Some of these courses are highly experiential – students are challenged to apply what they learn to real - often their own - ventures.

Now in its fourth year, Poets & Quants' ranking captures a wide range of criteria about US and global business schools, including a school's accelerator space, venture funds available, and core classes dedicated to entrepreneurship.

Schools are ranked on 16 data points. This year’s list contained 37 schools. Unlike other rankings, Poets & Quants' ranking offers complete transparency on methodology and weighting system, allowing students to evaluate schools for the best fit. "MBA programs serve not only as an educational resource for entrepreneurs," says Nathan Allen, lead editor of the entrepreneurship ranking. “They offer the full incubator experience that includes an experienced network of successful entrepreneurs, start-up funding, and mentorship."
