Dr Ethiraj, originally from India, received his PhD in Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and served on the faculty at Ross School of Business, University of Michigan for over a decade before joining London Business School.

His teaching and research interests span core topics in strategic management including innovation, competitive strategy, and managing human capital.

A member of the Governing Body since 2022, Dr Ethiraj is deeply committed to furthering the research and teaching excellence of faculty at LBS. His primary focus is on designing structures and reward systems to attract and retain the best and diverse research faculty from all over the world.
