I examine how the external environment influences risk taking behavior such as search and innovation by firms. In one stream of research, I investigate how external factors such as competition, political connections, and suppliers shape innovation decisions for firms. In another stream of research, I examine how policy shocks affect firms’ talent search and the propensities to take risks. My research spans industry settings in the energy domain and creative industries. I hold an MBA from the Institute of Public Enterprise, India, and a bachelor’s in technology from JNTU, India. Prior to joining academia, I worked as a research associate at the Indian School of Business, India.
