My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Balancing business school applications, GMAT preparation and full-time work

About me: Born and raised in Nairobi, I moved to the UK in 2013 to complete my GCSEs and A-levels, and then my undergraduate studies at the London School of Economics in Psychological and Behavioural Science.

During my undergraduate studies, I explored a range of career opportunities with internships in various fields and geographies: audit in Kenya, agri-tech in Serbia, and M&A in the UK. My exploration culminated after graduation with me joining the Dubai Business Associates (DBA), a 9-month, government of Dubai, management training and cultural ambassadorship program. Completing both a 3-month secondment with a VC and a consulting project for a leading international financial freezone on the program confirmed these two industries as my preferred career directions.

I then decided to join the Masters in Management program to bridge my undergraduate studies and develop a strong, foundational managerial skill set. The extensive, active network of alumni and current students, brought together by the School's variety of clubs, has already been a major source of learning and guidance.

Outside of academic and professional pursuits, I love hiking and particularly enjoyed climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. As the technical manager for PuLSE radio, I trained student radio show hosts and DJs, and even performed a little myself.

Three topics I can be approached about: Anything related to London, VC & Consulting in the GCC, Choosing between programmes
