My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Being on this journey on my own (without a career center or large network to reach out to - luckily LBS' online events helped me bridge the gap)

About me: My name is Eliya and I am a Masters in Management student, born and raised in small village in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe. I finished my undergraduate studies at the American University in Bulgaria in 2023, graduating with a double major in Business Administration and Economics. Outside of academics, I devoted my free time to extracurriculars such as TEDxAUBG and the Political Science Club. During my studies I also worked part-time as an M&A intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers for a year and a half, advising on some of the biggest deals in the CEE region. Furthermore, I worked as a management consulting intern at both Deloitte CEE, and Baringa Partners, where I worked on operational efficiency projects cutting costs of over £1b. Outside of work, I am passionate about non-formal education. I led a +300-member NGO called Bulgarian Debate Association for over 3 years, coached the National Debate Team for high school students, and won 2nd best EFL team on the Worlds University Debating Championship in 2021. Furthermore, I am currently a Program Coordinator at The Aleksander Foundation, where I work for providing exciting out-of-classroom opportunities for Bulgarian students, and supporting their career journeys. Moreover, I am an active member and awarded scholar of Tuk-Tam Fund in Bulgaria, also working towards investing in the brighter future for Bulgarian students. My personal interests include playing the piano, geopolitics, cooking, video games, and hiking. At LBS, I am part of the CEE and the FLII clubs, and I proud to represent the Laidlaw Foundation as this year's scholar. Last, but not least - I am looking forward to helping prospective students in their journeys as a Student Ambassador!
