£13.5m gift for London Business School

Generous gift from LBS alumnus supports School’s Forever Forward Campaign

Forever Forward - 1140x346

London Business School has received a generous gift of £13.5m from a former student towards its Forever Forward Campaign, launching in London today. The gift supports the School’s ambition to increase its profound impact on the world of business and strengthen the offer of lifelong learning to alumni.

It comes from a visionary collector of fine wines and the sale at auction of the largest single-owner collection ever offered by Christie’s. The avid collector, who wishes to remain anonymous, assembled their collection of iconic, well-known, and up-and-coming wines over more than two decades.

They compare the labour of love involved in creating a fine wine to the “labour of love the faculty and staff of the London Business School give to this wonderful place of learning, which has been most inspiring for so many alumni like myself.”

François Ortalo-Magné, Dean, London Business School, says: “As Dean, I am particularly proud that our School offers life-changing learning experiences borne out of high-quality research, the diversity of our community, our learning environment, and the innovative ways in which we teach.

“The consignor’s generous gift will allow us to make our world-class offering accessible to more students and alumni, more organisations, and more world influencers, empowering them to have a profound impact on the way the world does business and the way business impacts the world.”
